Have had a problem with odor from hot water heater faucets. Factory anode lasted about 4 months. Then replaced it with aluminum/zinc. It lasted about 4 months and odor returned. Decided to go with electronic anode rather than Magnesium because hot water is softened. Installation was very easy once the old anode was removed. I found that an electrically driven impact wrench worked great. Odor eliminated. Second water heater water began to have emit odor. Replaced it with a second electronic anode. Water odor gone. The first one's green indicator was solid light. 2nd blinked at a high rate. Email to company said this was normal. Very fast and courteous response. Hopefully they will last for a long time. Very satisfied so far. The extender rod was a valuable addition one water heater.
