Just installed your anode after purchase in May. Original anode so tight that 6 side 1 1/16 socket eventually rounded the hex head points with no movement. I used a 27MM extractor socket and electric impact gun to finally remove after repeated attempts. Breaker bar with pipe extension spun the full tank more than it could be held down! I guess they just want to sell new water heaters....Luckily I have a pretty complete tool set and some experience. Green light on and I'm hoping for the best. Have a few pics if you'd like.
